Dear church family
Through this period of Selah I have been reflecting again on one of my favourite passages in the Bible; Psalm 23.
The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,3 he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name's sake. 4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. 6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
I love this psalm so much, it has guided me through many seasons in life and reveals so much about God's character and love for us. Theres so many reflections that we can pull out of it, and here are just a few of mine in the season of slowing down and refreshing.
The Lord is our Shepherd, he is the God who guides us, protects us and watches over us as his own.
I lack nothing, Jesus has all we need.
He refreshes my soul, When (not if) we are tired and weary, God refreshes us and picks us up to go again.
He guides me along the right paths, God has great plans for our lives and will leads us into them even if we can't see it.
Even though I walk through the darkest valley... you are with me We WILL go through tough seasons, but we can trust God and know he is with us. He walks alongside us and never leaves our side.
They comfort me, Regardless of the reason we feel in a dark valley God is there to comfort not shame us.
Your goodness & love will follow me all the days of my life, God's love actively pursues us!
