A prophesy that has now come to pass

New Wells - Weekly Update-01 Header.png

Dear church family

Someone shared with me a picture they had approx. 15 years ago when we used to have services called 'Open to God'. They had a picture of a bright light like a fountain (this was before the Willesborough Baptist Church logo was a fountain).  People started moving towards the light and the light was getting stronger.  There were people of all nationalities, gender, age and physical capability.  She saw people with walkers and children being carried on the shoulders of their Dads.  At the time of the picture, Willesborough was a predominantly white British church.  We marvelled at how much New Wells Ashford has changed since those days and that the picture God had given her was a prophesy that has now come to pass.

This Sunday we celebrate the wonderful diversity of our church family.  Something that was a distant dream all those years ago.  Today, we have over 40 different nationalities with ages ranging from new born to seniors with walkers and in wheelchairs.  This is such a wonderful picture of the Kingdom of Heaven where the apostle John wrote in Revelation 7:9,

'After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no-one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb.'

Our heart at New Wells is for the gospel to be accessible to all people and it was so wonderful to see so many at the 'Signing Well' café this Thursday.  We have quite some way to go, but please do pray that our church will become accessible to the deaf community so that BSL will be one of the languages used to worship and glorify our Lord every Sunday in our church building.

When we gather together this Sunday, take a look around and know that when we worship together with one voice, we are on our way to reflecting the Kingdom of Heaven here on earth.  So, please make it a priority to come to Ashford on Sunday to share lunch together.  We would love to welcome you whether you have worshipped at Finberry, Brabourne or Ashford, this is a chance for us to share good food and get to know more people within our New Wells family.

I'll see you there!

Much love,

Paula
