Keeping our eyes on the King

Hello church family

I hope you are well and have had a great week!

It is such a privilege to be part of a diverse, intergenerational church family, where everyone is welcome, encouraged and able to play their part in the family of God.
In 1 Corinthians 12:22-26 it reads:
In fact, some parts of the body that seem weakest and least important are actually the most necessary. And the parts we regard as less honorable are those we clothe with the greatest care. So we carefully protect those parts that should not be seen, while the more honorable parts do not require this special care. So God has put the body together such that extra honor and care are given to those parts that have less dignity. This makes for harmony among the members, so that all the members care for each other. If one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it, and if one part is honored, all the parts are glad.

Everybody is equal in the body of God; rich or poor, young or old, new to faith or known Jesus for a life time. Our role is to honour God and all his children and as a church we are called to uplift the weak, care for those who have been dishonoured, give dignity to everybody, live in harmony, care for each other, draw close to those suffering, and rejoice with those rejoicing!

That is a lot to live up to! - Even in just a small snippet of the Bible but allow me to encourage you today to keep your eyes on the King and all will be well. He gives us all we need to live out the life he has called us to. Be encouraged, Jesus loves you!

ALPHA - Monday 22nd September ⌚ 6:15pm @ Sevington
NEW Alpha starting 22nd September! Do you have questions about faith and the Holy Spirit or being a Christian? Come to our Alpha course where questions are the name of the game! The course lasts 11 weeks plus one Saturday and is a safe place to ask all those questions, get answers, learn together and also share a home cooked meal. Each evening starts at 6:15pm with a meal at 6:30pm and lasts until approx. 9pm every Monday. Location: Sevington.

KIDS TEAM MEETING | Monday 22nd September | 7:30pm
If you are interested in serving in kids (and if you are already part of the kids team) you are invited to our whole kids team meeting on Monday 22nd September, 7:30pm at The Well. Our children's ministry is growing which is amazing but it also calls for us to continue to rise up to serve these disciples of Jesus, If you have any questions please get in touch with Matt via email, matt.wardley@willesboroughbaptist.church

REVERB - Tuesday 23rd September and every fourth Tuesday⌚ 1:30pm @ Brabourne Baptist Church
We will be starting a mid-week, daytime service every fourth Tuesday each month from 1:30pm at Brabourne. The first one will be Tuesday 23rd September. This is a shout out to everyone who would like to be involved in making this happen. We need hospitality volunteers and those who would like to lead worship or be part of the worship team playing an instrument and / or vocals. CHURCH MEETING | Sunday 28th September | 12:45pm
Straight after our morning gathering, we will be having a Church meeting, to share some vision about what us coming up. This will be a short but important meeting, so please do all you can to stay. We will have some snacks together as part of this.

CAP LIFE SKILLS | Monday 29th September | 7pm
Our next Life skills course will be beginning on Monday 29th September in The Well! If you or anyone else you know of is free and wants to come along to learn some different things which may help with life generally, please contact us via the office or register you interest via the form on the website https://www.willesboroughbaptist.church/cap and Anne will get back to you! The feedback from those who have done this course previously has been overwhelmingly positive so feel free to get in touch, even just to find out a bit more about it!

24 HOURS OF PRAYER & WORSHIP | Friday 3rd Oct 7pm - Saturday 4th 7pm
The prayer and worship space will be in our main worship space running from 7pm on Friday 3rd to 7pm on Saturday 4th. This is something that you can come along to for as long as you want to - or if you can only come for 15 minutes, do still show up!
